How Your Moon and Venus Signs Influence Your Love Life

The astrological sign most of us know is actually our "sun" sign. That’s the one in the description at the back of the magazine, and it’s generally… general. But every single planet was in a unique spot in the sky at the moment you were born, and according to astrologers, they all conspired to make you the special snowflake that you are. For that reason, you have to go beyond your sun sign if you really want to know your astrological traits.

I never used to relate to my sun sign, so I decided to find out my moon and Venus signs (and others) in order to get a more complete description of myself, astrologically speaking.
Two are the most revealing are moon and Venus signs. They can give you clues to your innermost needs, emotional personality, and even your love and relationship styles. ‘The moon and Venus matter most in the love and romance realm,’ says Mystic Medusa. In fact, she says in ancient Greek times, people responded to the (literally) age-old question "What’s your sign?" with their moon.

In fact, she says in ancient Greek times, people responded to the (literally) age-old question "What’s your sign?" with their moon.
Since the moon moves through a few different constellations each day, you need to know your exact birth time to find your sign. If your moon is in Aries, for example, your fiery self likely feels at home with a little play and competition. Alternatively, a moon in watery Pisces will make you more emotional and prone to immersing yourself in compassion and service. "The moon is you on a basic, feeling level," Mystic Medusa explains.
If your moon sign is your emotional core, then your Venus sign is your emotional style. "Venus is more about social relating," she says. "It speaks to our values, aesthetics, sensuality, and desires for connection. In each sign, that’s going to come across differently and require different energy to fuel it."
Your Venus sign might help you see where you’ve neglected areas of yourself that need expression in relationships. For example, someone with a Venus in Cancer feels a need to nurture and take care of their partner emotionally, while someone with a Venus in Sagittarius craves exploration and adventure in relationships. ‘We have to express the Venus sign when partnering, dating, hooking up, creating art, and even shopping,’ she says. ‘If we aren’t honouring our Venus, we won’t feel fully connected.’
